A public speaking programme that teaches effective pitching and application of STEM perspectives for upper primary students, ages 10 – 12 years old.

  • Programme Structure: Saturdays, 2.45pm to 4.15pm
  • Skills: Speech Writing, Pitching, STEM & Innovative Thinking, Stage Presence

Co-developed by STEM professionals and professional speakers, in consultation with an international team of educators and parents, Captivating Communicators will prepare your child to excel at school projects, debates, or simply communication skills.

Your child will discover how to incorporate STEM concepts into presentations and learn to use storytelling techniques to connect with listeners.

Over the course of the year, we will work with your child to develop the following skills:

Speech Writing
Introduction to speech writing, including structure, organization and delivery.
Developing more in-depth speech writing techniques using persuasive language and storytelling.
Refining speech writing skills, tailoring speeches to different audiences and learning how to craft compelling pitch scripts.
Pitching
Introduction to pitching, understanding basic pitch structure and techniques.
Developing persuasive pitches, including storytelling and pitching to different audiences
Mastering the art of pitching, including handling Q&A sessions and impromptu speeches.
STEM & Innovation
Basic understanding of STEM concepts and intergration of STEM topics into speeches.
Applying STEM knowledge to solve real-world problems, diving deeper through STEM experiments and challenges.
Undertaking STEM projects, learning project management skills and data collection (e.g. testing, surveying and interviewing.)
Stage Presence/ Confidence
Building confidence and overcoming stage fright through fun and interactive drama activities.
Developing body language, vocal delivery, and eye contact.
Enhancing stage presence through engaging the audience and developing leadership skills through projects beyond the classroom.
